Palm Beach Children's Chorus is interested in children ages 5-19 who love to sing.
Palm Beach Children's Chorus is divided into 4 divisions:
1. Poco a Poco- or the Prep Chorus for children ages 5-8
2. Prelude- or the Beginning Treble Chorus for children ages 8-10
3. Concerto or Concert Chorus for singers ages 11-17.
4. Musical Theatre/Youth Arts Workshop for children ages 5-19
Auditions
CHORUS AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
CHOIRS/ENSEMBLES:
Poco a Poco-Prep Chorus: There is no audition requirement for our Training Chorus. All children ages 4-7 are invited to join!
Prelude-Beginning Treble Chorus: Boys and girls ages 8-10 will audition by singing either "Happy Birthday" or "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". Singers will be tested on pitch matching and scales.
Concerto-Concert Chorus: Singers ages 11-17 will sing 2 minutes of a song of choice with recorded accompaniment. In addition, singers will be tested on pitch matching and scales.
*All Singers will be placed in the appropriate choir group based on their age and singing ability.
THEATRE PROGRAM:
Musical Theatre/Theatre Auditions:
Our musical theatre productions are open to children and youth ages 7-19.
***We will soon offer music and theatre discovery classes for children ages 4-7.
We work with our sister non-profit organization, the South Florida Society for Arts and Culture, to bring a dynamic children's theatre program, The Youth Arts Workshop, to children throughout Palm Beach County.
Our performances last season included, Aladdin, Jr., Hairspray, Jr., Wonderland (The Musical Mis-adventures of a Girl Named Alice), and A Wrinkle in Time, Willy Wonka, Jr and many summer camp Theatre showcases.
To audition for our Musical Theatre/Theatre program students will audition for each production with a monologue and a 16 bar cut of a song from a musical theatre production. Each production is offered as a class during our regularly scheduled calendar year (either Fall or Spring Production). This is an optional addition to membership in Palm Beach Children's Chorus. Students receive expert instruction in theatre, vocal, and dance (choreography).

In an effort to make our programming more accessible to children in our community, we have rolling admissions to the choir throughout the school year (season). No prior experience is necessary. Auditions are fun and take approximately 15 minutes! In addition, new chorus members will have an interview, along with their parents.
Singers ages 4-7 will not be required to audition, but will be required to have an interview with their parents and Palm Beach Children's Chorus staff. If you are interested in joining Palm Beach Children's Chorus, please request a membership interview/audition.
**Students interested in our Musical Theatre/Theatre program will still need to audition for future productions.
